Obituary of Paul J. Barrett

Paul J. Barrett passed away peacefully on June 29th, 2020 at House 4 Eddy Village Green, Cohoes. Born in Boston, Massachusetts he was the son of the late Phillip and Nora O'Malley Barrett. Paul resided in Newtonville for many years. Prior to his retirement Paul was employed by the Campbell Soup Company working at several locations on the east coast. Paul enjoyed cheering on his beloved Red Sox and Boston Bruins as well as playing a round of golf in his younger years. Paul was fond of all animals and is predeceased by many four legged friends, most recently his devoted dog Missy. He will be remembered for his warm personality and his friendship to many who knew and loved him. Paul leaves behind too many friends to name individually. If you knew Paul you know what it's like to have a true friend. Paul had the incredible gift of bringing people together and creating friendships that will last a life time. In addition to his parents Paul was predeceased by his wife Bea. A mass of Christian burial will be celebrated on Friday July 3rd at 10 a.m. at Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, Watervliet. Friends may visit at the funeral home prior to mass from 8:00- 9:30 a.m. Burial will be in St. Francis Cemetery, Walpole, Massachusetts, with his parents. Paul lived one day at a time and made it a point to be helpful to those in need. Paul will be missed beyond words.
