Willard C. Roff

Willard “Bill” Roff of Latham, NY passed away peacefully on March 3, 2023 at his residence in
Colonie, NY.
Bill was born on July 30, 1927 in West Elmira, NY. After serving in the U.S. Navy aboard the USS
Hornet in WWII, he was honorably discharged in 1946. Soon after, he met the love of his life,
Shirley, and they married in Rock Stream, NY. They were married for 66 years before she passed
away on June 27, 2015. Bill lovingly cared for Shirley for over 20 years while she battled
multiple illnesses. The majority of his career was with the NYS Department of State where he
retired as Director of Licensing in 1987.
Bill is predeceased by his wife, Shirley, a son, and a granddaughter. He is survived by sons
Ronald (Cathy), Barry (Silvia), James (Barbara) and daughter Sheryl (Beth) along with many
grandchildren and great grandchildren. At Bill’s request, services were private. He will be sadly
missed by his three buddies, Jaeyeong, Cody and Lily.
