Thomas Albert Ladley

Thomas A. Ladley longtime resident of 19th Street in Watervliet died Sunday August 4th in the comfort of his own home. Son of the late James and Crescentia Stammberger Ladley. Devoted husband of the late Diane Harris.

A graduate of St. Joseph’s Prep School, Barrytown, NY, Tom earned a BA from Catholic University of America (1960) and an MA from Manhattan College (1967). After teaching and coaching in three elementary schools in NYC, Tom taught and mentored beginning teachers at LaSalle School, Albany for thirty-five years.  In 1987, Tom received the LaSallian Educator of the Year Award at a national celebration in Chicago, Illinois. 

Tom is survived by his brother; Peter (Patricia) Ladley, sister; Crescentia (Bruce) Brynofson, and sister-in-law Rose Marie Ladley. In addition to his siblings Tom is survived by his "adopted daughter" Debra Bruns. Also survived by a host of nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents and wife Tom is predeceased by his brothers Edward and James (Delores) Ladley, and brother in laws Phillip and David Harris.

Family and friends are invited and may call in the Konicek & Collett Funeral Home LLC., 1855 12th Avenue Watervliet on Thursday August 8th from 4pm until 6pm. A prayer service will be held immediately following the visitation. Inurnment will be Monday August 12th at 10am from the funeral home at 9:15am in Memory Gardens Cemetery, Colonie. A funeral procession will be assembled in front of the funeral at 9am and will depart at 9:15am.

Tom's family wishes to thank Becky, Everett "Doc" Rivers, and Pastor Nick TeBordo for their kind, gracious support and care for Tom during his final months prior to his passing.

Funeral arrangements are entrusted to Tom's dear neighbor and friend Jeffery M. Collett of Konicek & Collett Funeral Home, Watervliet.
