Stephen L. Ahnert of Albany passed away unexpectedly April 20th, 2024. Son of the late Walter and Patricia Fisher Ahnert.

Stephen was a retiree of the New York State Department of State where he enjoyed a longtime career. An avid watcher of Horror films, Stephen could be found watching Steven King horror films in the comfort of his home. Stephen enjoyed trips to Salem Ma, during the Halloween season, taking in the many sights and events in the historic town well known for its spooky atmosphere. Stephen will be fondly remembered by those close to him for his caring and loving attributes. A funny guy and a joy to be around, Stephen will be remembered for his quick wit and sense of humor.

Stephen is survived by his former wife Debra Powell, and cousins Jill, Mark, and Jeff.

A Celebration of Life will be held later in the spring.
