Ruby Rochelle Sherseth Stasiak, 42, passed away at home
surrounded by her loving family on November 20, 2020. Born on
February 3, 1978, in Minneapolis MN, Ruby was many things- wife,
mother, daughter, sister, musician, and United States Marine.
However, her defining attribute was her kindness. She never held a
grudge, always saw the good in others and, above all, forgave
people for their faults. Anyone who knew her felt this kindness
whenever they needed her.
Her mother, Colleen Marie Foley, loved her very much and inspired
her artistic nature. Her father, Lee James Sherseth, was devoted to
her and from him Ruby gained a love of music and was inspired to
become a musician.
Ruby took her talent for and love of music to the United States
Marine Corps, where she served proudly in the Marine Band as a
flautist for many years.
Ruby is survived by her devoted husband, John, of Westminster,
MA. John met Ruby in the Marine Corps in 1998 and was so taken
by her, he has been committed to her ever since. She is also
survived by her two beloved children, Sean and Keely, who have
inherited her trait of kindness.
Her children made her immensely proud and she worried for them,
knowing she would no longer be there to guide them. Our greatest
hope is that the people she touched with her kindness will be
inspired by her example and be there for Sean and Keely when
they need them.
Ruby is also survived by her stepmom Connie; sisters Jessica,
Andrea, Jacki, and Emily; her brother Nathan; her parents-in-law
John and Marie Stasiak; as well as many loving aunts, uncles,
cousins, nieces and nephews.
Ruby was preceded in death by her grandparents, Ruth and Pat Foley,
who helped raise her and shared their wisdom and good humor with
her; we can be comforted knowing she is with them now.
The many, many people she touched will now have to deal with
her loss but can be comforted by the knowledge of how much she
brought to our lives.
