Nelson Baez Sanchez

Nelson Báez Sanchez, 64. of Cohoes NY formerly from the Bronx N.Y. passed away unexpectedly at home on Oct. 13, 2023. Nelson was born in San Juan, Puerto Rico, on Dec. 14,1958.

Nelson was a great and dedicated Husband, Father, Grandfather, Father-in-Law, Uncle & Friend. He was a man of many trades, there was nothing he couldn't do. Nelson loved children, nature and all animals. He was the kind of man that would give the shirt off his back to anyone who needed it. Nelson found immense joy in telling jokes, playing pranks, being around his grandchildren and just having a good time. He was a strong, selfless, extremely kind, hard worker, amazing soul, and human being that was loved by all who knew him. He will be immensely missed!!

Nelson leaves behind his wife of 48 years Mery, his dog/sidekick Brutus, 4 children Nelson (Jennifer), Kathy (Jamal), Kaysha (Luis) & Nestor, (adopted girls Judy & Yoly) 14 Grandchildren Amber, Abby, Jay, Christian, Sebastian, Chichi, Betty, Sammy, Bebo, Alexia, Bella, Rosii, Jiguelito & Julisa. Along with many family members and friends.

Family and friends are invited to visit with Nelson's family Wednesday October 18th, 2023, from 4-7pm in the Konicek & Collett Funeral Home LLC 1855 12th Avenue, Watervliet. A prayer service will immediately follow the visitation at 7pm in Spanish for those attending.
