Giangrande, Miriam Ann, 77, of Glenmont passed away on Thursday July 19, 2018 at St. Peter’s Hospital. Ann was the daughter of the late Justin and Ruth Flanagan Wolffer and was the beloved wife of Mario Giangrande.She was born on March 16th, 1941in Manhattan as Miriam Ann Wolffer. Known to family and close friends as Me-Me. Ann grew up in the Bronx on Fenton Avenue around the corner from her future husband Mario whom she married on October 16th1960. The couple moved to MIssouri while Mario was in the U.S. Army. Ann and Mario have resided in Glenmont for the past ten years.
Ann is the cherished mother of Diane (Tony) Loughran of Athens, N.Y. Ruth (Bruce) Sprague of Athens N.Y. and Peter (Wendy) Giangrande of Summerville, S.C. Also surviving are her granddaughters Nicole Loughran, Cortney Loughran and Julia Giangrande. In addition to her parents she was predeceased by her sister Ella Ferraro. Ann was a devout Catholic and enjoyed volunteering time at the Sister Maureen Joyce Center. Mario and Ann enjoyed picnicking at the Hudson River and travel.
Ann’s funeral mass will be celebrated on Wednesday July 25, 2018 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Thomas The Apostle Church 35 Adams Place, Delmar. Family and friends are invited to visit with Ann’s family on Tuesday from 4:00 to 7:00 p.m. AT THE CHURCH. Burial will be in the Gerald B. H. Solomon Saratoga National Cemetery. In lieu of flowers memorial contributions in Ann’s name to Sister Maureen Joyce Center 369 Livingston Ave. Albany, N.Y. 12206.
