Margaret Ann Farrell
Watervliet - Margaret Ann Farrell passed away peacefully on September 26th, 2021, at home surrounded by her loving family. Born in Troy, Margaret was the daughter of the late Warren and Julia Storelli Harris. Margaret was a parishioner of St. Brigid’s Church and was educated in Watervliet schools, graduating class of 1967.
Margaret was retired from the NYS DMV and was an active member of the Watervliet Senior Center and the Watervliet Ladies AOH. Following her retirement, Margaret assisted many seniors allowing them to remain in their homes. Always the caregiver, Margaret enjoyed cooking and baking for her family and friends and was always available to drive people to an appointment or to work. Margaret was honored to be the Grand Marshall of the 2004 St Patrick’s Day Parade in Albany, an honor well deserved Devoted mother of Robert (Terri) Welsh Sr., Bryan (Karen) Welsh and Heather (Eric) Welsh; loving sister of Warren (Bettina) Harris. Loving grandmother of eight grandchildren, Robert (Erin) Welsh Jr., Anthony (Ariel) Welsh, Devon Sedgwick, Kyle Sedgwick, Christopher Welsh, Sara Welsh, Emma Welsh, Courtney Quinn and Marisa Romero; seven great-grandchildren, Anthony Gratto, Katelyn Welsh, Robert Welsh III, Anthony Welsh Jr, Tyren Welsh, Stephen Sedgwick, William Sedgwick and Caleb Sedgwick. In addition to her parents, Margaret was predeceased by her brothers Joe Harris, Jack Harris, and her former husband Robert Welsh.
Family and friends are invited to visit with Margaret’s family on Thursday 5-7 p.m. at the Konicek & Collett Funeral Home, Watervliet. A prayer service will be held at 4:30 p.m. in the funeral home. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Watervliet Senior Center or Mary’s Kitchen in Margaret’s memory would be appreciated.
