Kevin Duane Simpkins

Kevin Duane Simpkins of Albany, NY passed away on October 16, 2023.  Kevin was born on May 26, 1978 in Wiesbaden, Germany and grew up in Germany, Virginia, West Virginia, South Carolina, and California.  Kevin was a youth wrestling prodigy, winning multiple championships in local, regional and national tournaments.  He spent his adult years in Pickens, SC; New Orleans, LA; Biloxi, MS; Asheville, NC; Auburn, ME and Albany, NY.

 

Kevin is survived by his father, Theodore Simpkins (Darlene) of Pickens, SC; his mother, Patsy Simpkins of Mountain Rest, SC; his brothers Christopher Simpkins (Caroline) of Marietta, GA; Brian Simpkins (Penny) of Mountain Rest, SC; Jeffrey Simpkins of Mountain Rest, SC; his nephew Isaac Simpkins of Marietta, GA; and his niece Meredith Simpkins of Marietta, GA.

 

Kevin’s family held a private funeral service at St. Andrew Catholic Church in Clemson, SC, where Kevin had been a parishioner as a teenager.  His remains are interred in the columbarium of Saint Paul the Apostle Catholic Church in Seneca, SC in Niche 302C in the leftmost section of Wall 2.  In lieu of flowers you may donate in his memory to your local Catholic Charity or to Catholic Charities USA.
