Jo Anne Kowalski, a faith-filled, friendly, and spirited woman, passed away peacefully at the age of 75 in Albany on August 3, 2023. Born in Watervliet on October 14, 1947, to her loving parents, Joseph and Mary Kowalski, Jo Anne will forever be remembered by all who knew her.
Jo Anne is survived by her son, Jonathan Kowalski, and his wife, Lourdes. Jo Anne held a special place in her heart for her grandchildren, Nathaniel and Lucas Kowalski. Their youthful laughter and innocent smiles brought immeasurable joy to her.
In addition to her son and grandchildren, Jo Anne is survived by her brothers, Michael Kowalski and his wife, Sharon, and James Kowalski, and his wife Sharon, and by several nieces and nephews. They ensured that even in her passing, Jo Anne was surrounded by those she greatly cherished.
Jo Anne was known for her warm smile. Her friendly demeanor made her beloved by her community. A faith-filled woman, Jo Anne found strength and solace in her beliefs. She was a constant fixture in her local church. Her faith was not just a part of her life but was the guiding force in all she did. Jo Anne's unwavering faith was an inspiration to those around her, and she leaves behind a legacy of love, faith, and kindness.
In the words of the famous author, Helen Keller, "The best and most beautiful things in the world cannot be seen or even touched - they must be felt with the heart." This quote truly encapsulates Jo Anne's approach to life. Jo Anne's spirited nature was rooted in her unwavering faith. Whether she was, investing her time in church or spending quiet moments in prayer, she performed every activity with inspiring vitality and unfading faith. Jo Anne's sensitive soul created memories which will long outlive her physical presence.
Her memory will forever be cherished by her loved ones and the community she touched with her spirit. She will be deeply missed, but will be remembered fondly by all who knew her. A Mass of Catholic Burial will be celebrated for Jo Anne on Saturday, August 5th at 1pm at the Immaculate Heart of Mary Church, 2416 7th Avenue, Watervliet, NY 12189. Family and friends are invited to visit with Jo Anne’s family from 11 am – 1 pm at the church prior to the funeral.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions to the Immaculate Heart of Mary Parish, 2416 7th Avenue, Watervliet, NY 12189, would be appreciated.
