Edward R. Dunbar of Troy died Monday, October 29, 2012. Born in Watervliet Mr. Dunbar was the son of the late Edward A. and Virginia (Murphy) Dunbar. Educated in Troy schools, he was retired from the Times Union Newspaper. Mr. Dunbar was a communicant of St. Anthony Shrine Church. Mr. Dunbar was a member of the Troy Elks 141, Teamsters Printing Pressman Union 23 and the South end Tavern Bowling League. He enjoyed fishing. Edward is survived by his brother, Patrick (Linda) Dunbar and a sister, Kateri (Kenneth) Place. Also survived by several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews. Brother of the late James Dunbar and Dennis (Barbara) Dunbar. The funeral will be at 9:00 a.m., Saturday, November 3, 2012 from the Konicek & Collett Funeral Home, LLC., 1855 12th Avenue, Watervliet, and at 10:00 a.m. St. Anthony's Shrine Church in Troy where a Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated. Relatives and friends may call at the funeral home on Friday from 5 to 8 p.m. Internment in St. Agnes Cemetery, Menands.
