Rigney, Andrew, S, left this world too soon on February 12, 2017. Andrew was an amazing son, husband, father, brother and grandfather.
He was born in Cohoes on December 1, 1967 to Janet and Edmund Rigney. He graduated from Keveny Memorial in 1985. He graduated from HVCC in 1999 with Phi Theta Kappa honors. He finished his education at SUNY Utica with a degree in Industrial Engineering; one of the proudest moments of his life. He received his P.E. in 2012 and he worked many steps in his career, Genesys Engineering, Guth Deconzo, Arcadia, TRC Companies, Hesnor Engineering then he wanted to be his own boss and started RSP Associates with his best friend and partner John Peschieri.
He married his soulmate and best friend, Michelle on September 9, 2000. He loved being a father and was so proud of his children, Kayla (Steve), Deanna, and Vincent. He loved watching his children grow and learn. He also welcomed his first grandchild, Killian John and looked forward to the birth of his 2nd grandson this spring.
He is predeceased by his parents, Janet and Edmund Rigney, his siblings, Shirley, Daniel and John and his niece Sommer Rigney.
He is survived by many people but most importantly his family: Dianne (Jon) Nolin, Julie (Jack) Miron,
Nancy (Thomas) Lonczak, James (Patricia) Rigney, Thomas (Michele) Rigney, Mary (Thomas) Johnson, Catherine (James) Griffin, Judy (Terence) Seery, Karen (Paul) Carey, along with all their children and grandchildren.
He is also survived by his other family - the Mayos: Victoria Mayo, Paul (Sue) Mayo, Lynn (Terrance) Ryan, John (Donna) Mayo, Mark (Andra) Mayo, Jennifer (Jessy) Wilson, along with their children and grandchildren. Andrew is also survived by several aunts, uncles and cousins.
There was so much that made Andy special, his love of his family, his work and ability to learn, build and fix anything. He had a passion for riding motorcycles and was the most amazing rider. He has been riding motorcycles since he hid one in his parent's basement at the age of 13.
Calling hours will be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church, 85 Elm Ave, Delmar, 12054 on Thursday
February 16th from 4pm to 8pm. Funeral services will also be held at Bethlehem Lutheran Church Friday, February 17th at 10am. Interment will follow in St. Joseph's Cemetery in Waterford following funeral. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Marfan Foundation or to a me fund established for Vincent's college education at Cap Com, FCU.
