Funerals Today

Funeral services have changed a great deal over the past years. Traditional services, including a wake and funeral service, have become more personalized.  Calling hours, also called a wake, visitation, or viewing, have become a time to celebrate the life of a loved one. The service should reflect the life of the deceased, and is a time to look back over the years and remember a life that was well lived. Family and friends gather during this time to laugh, share a few tears, and perhaps a special song or collection of photos honoring a special life.  Today many choose a more private service with limited or no funeral service.  Perhaps a simple memorial service is desired.  Direct services provide the family of the deceased to arrange for direct cremation or burial with no funeral service. Whatever type of service you desire for your loved one, we are here to assist.

Funerals Today: Traditional Options

Traditional funeral services including calling hours followed by a funeral service (often religious in nature) still appeal to many families. During the calling hours personalized choices will help to create a memorable tribute to the deceased. A traditional service may also include a brief service at the grave site.

Funerals Today: Non-traditional Options

Non-traditional services may include visitation with or without the body being present. Visitation may focus on memorializing special interests, life achievements, special memories, or simply a time to reflect upon ones relationship with the deceased. This type of arrangement may also include a funeral or memorial service.
